Square One Salon & Spa

I’ve been going to this salon for over 6 years and have never had a bad experience before yesterday. I was scheduled for a cut and style with Jordyn. She had a client who she was working on when I arrived and I ended up having to wait 20 minutes. When she finally did get to me she had her assistant do my scalp massage, shampoo and condition, and my mini facial. She did cut my hair, but failed to style it due to scheduling clients on top of each other. She was working on 3 people at the same time. She said she would blow out my hair after she finished up with her first client, but she never came back. She started working on a new client who needed to get highlights done. She told me that she would get to me after she was done with her new clients foils. I then waited another half an hour and she still wasn’t any closer to being done. I decided to leave as I had waited an additional hour past my scheduled time. The entire appointment seemed extremely unprofessional, which you wouldn’t expect from a master stylist. After everything that happened Jordyn still charged me for the full service and claimed I’m the one that booked the wrong appointment. She said I should have booked an appointment for wavy/textured hair and that’s why she didn’t have time to finish my hair. Never in my 6 years of coming here have I ever booked that service. She is the third stylist I’ve worked with here and no one else has ever needed “extra time”. I truly feel like I looked better going into this appointment than I did when I left. This experience was very disappointing and if it weren’t for the good experiences I’ve had in the past I would not be returning to this salon.

I recently had gone to another salon and the stylist really messed my hair up. I booked an appointment at Square One on Brown Street and was blown away from their professionalism and kindness. The salon is so pretty and clean! Katie was my stylist and she was AMAZING !! When I got in her chair I explained my situation to her and how disappointed I had been with my hair at the time. She was so nice and really listened to what I said. I showed her reference photos and she walked me through all of what she was going todo to help blend out my hair. She was also very personable and easy to talk to. I never felt uncomfortable in her chair and the atmosphere was so relaxing! They even give you a complimentary mini facial while you get your hair washed! I can’t say enough good things about my experience and I definitely will be back! Thank you to Katie for saving my hair! 10/10

I go to Evelyn on Brown street, and I can't recommend her enough! She always makes the atmosphere warm and inviting. She takes time to listen to my ideas and offered great suggestions that suit my style. Not to mention she does an amazing job!
