I went in for a deep tissue massage lunchtime on a Friday, and although the top floor (mostly a hair salon) was busy & bustling, the lower basement floor with many treatment rooms were calm & serene.My therapist Shawn was a large muscular man (sounded Russian) - I was not asked on the phone if I had a preference for a male/female therapist when I booked, but I didn't mind because I was scheduled in for a Deep Tissue Massage.Although the massage was really good, I wish Shawn had asked me which areas I wanted him to focus on (back & shoulders) vs areas to skip (stomach, head massage, etc). Shawn showed a fantastic understanding of pressure points & trigger points and really gave a great deep tissue massage.Overall a solid experience, and the hour flew by. The massage oils smelled very nice, and aside from the oscasional low rumble from the nearby Christopher Street 1 Subway line, the atmosphere in the treatment room was spot on. A solid place for a massage.
